Leo was just a few months old when she arrived to Merazonia Wildlife Refuge. A nearby zoo handed her over after most likely escaping from where she had been kept illegally as a pet. Leo’s recovery was a long one, but after 2.5 years of rehabilitation, she was ready to be released!

Leo now lives a semi-wild life on Merazonia’s reserve with the hope that one day, she and her group will be free of their dependence on humans.
